The Chinese character for "crisis" is the same as for "opportunity", or "never let a good crisis go to waste". Yes, you've heard it before. Yes, they are cliches. At the same time: how else should we act when we are limited by circumstances beyond our control?

The coronavirus pandemic has naturally been troublesome for all of us who work in an industry built on people meeting. After two years in a world where we were continuously urged to stay away from each other, the word crisis comes readily to mind. What alternatives have we had? What have we been able to do? We have, as best we could, tried to spread information about safe alternatives, with the emphasis on digital meetings and outdoor activities.

Focus on Opportunities -- What Would Be the Alternative?

Beyond that, we have actually -- however cliched it may sound -- tried to consider the opportunities the situation has presented. What else should we have done, given up? Hypothetically, that might have been an option, but at Event Logic we haven't entertained the thought. On the contrary, we have acted based on one single question: how can we use this situation to make our tool even better in time for the day when bookings pick up again? In the supermarket, on the trams, and in the "booking pressure", it is now clearly noticeable that COVID-19 no longer constitutes the limiting factor it has been in recent years. Since 1 April, it is no longer classified as a socially dangerous disease, and so it's time for a summary.

In What Ways Is Event Logic Better Now Than Before the Pandemic?

The most truthful answer is: in every way. But to be more specific, we can mention the following:

  • We have grown significantly in the number of suppliers in the Nordic countries and today have over 7,000 suppliers, bookable across the Nordics in 11 different categories.
  • New features in the platform. For example, what we call "resources", which means that those who have their venue bookable in Event Logic can provide planners with more detailed information than before about premises and rooms at the venue.
  • The ability to use the platform in more languages: Norwegian, Finnish & Danish.
  • Better conditions for reporting.
  • The search functions in the platform have been improved and it is now even easier to find the right suppliers for your meetings and events.
  • Like everyone else, we have had to practise quick footwork in constant uncertainty. Something that during the pandemic resulted in us developing features for procuring hybrid and digital meetings & activities.
  • A little over a year ago, we teamed up with BIG Travel. In this way, we have contributed to digitising the travel industry as a whole and reached more user groups. Read more here.

That the past few years here at Event Logic have been characterised by purposeful productivity, we hope to have successfully conveyed by now. The fact is that we know we are far from alone. Countless players in the event and meetings industry have fought hard and achieved absolutely fantastic results in a more or less impossible time.
