Get to Know Henrik Vallentin, Our New CEO!

On the first of June, Event Logic got a new CEO when Henrik Vallentin joined us. We sat down for a while and talked about what he brings to Event Logic. We learned that growth companies make his heart beat faster, but also that an active lifestyle is an important part of his life.
Hi Henrik, how would you describe yourself?
In my free time, I'm a sports-loving dad of two boys who play football, badminton, and do some gymnastics. I myself enjoy all sports but growing up I mainly played football, tennis, and TaeKwon-Do. Everyone in my family loves to stay active, so there's a lot of sports, training, and as much snowboarding and skiing as we can fit in during the season.
In my professional life, I'm a person who is very interested in human behavior and I'm motivated by working in companies that are trying to change behaviors and traditional ways of working.
That brings us to your career, what's your professional background?
I've worked in the IT industry with both hardware and software since 2002, initially in sales and marketing as well as in various leadership roles within those fields. I spent nine years at a company in the video conferencing industry where I was sales director and got to be part of an exciting journey, from a small startup to close to 400 million SEK in revenue and about 100 employees. Most recently, I come from four years as CEO at the software company Microdeb, which offers solutions in payment transactions, so this is in a way a completely new industry for me.
How exciting, tell us more!
Professionally, I've always been interested in understanding customers' challenges and problems and then trying to help them solve these with the solutions offered by the companies I've worked for. A common thread in my career has been creating customer and user value, preferably at companies that are trying to change the status quo in their industry.
And now you're at Event Logic, what attracted you here?
I feel that the event industry has great potential for digitalization and will most likely change. Much thanks to the technology that already exists and what's coming in the future, so it's an exciting challenge to join a company that is leading the way. Additionally, Event Logic consists of very talented people with diverse backgrounds in the event and meeting industry, so I see great opportunities for us together to grow into something bigger than what we are today.
Finally, what will your role as CEO involve?
I will focus on trying to understand our customers, users, and suppliers who actively work in Event Logic every day. Then build on those insights and strive to improve the tool and the communication with them.
Beyond that, of course, there's the traditional CEO work where I will be focused on increasing profitability and growth by ensuring that we are and remain a great team that offers great solutions. And naturally, working hard to grow and find new colleagues who share our vision and want to be part of the journey to change the event industry.
Henrik Vallentin has taken over the role as CEO from our co-founder Eric Windzer. Eric is very much still in the company and will have an important role in our future with a focus on our customers, users, and suppliers.
