CEO takes the pen part 2: How prepared are you for change?
Event Logic
In a recently published blog post, I, Henrik Vallentin, shared some reflections on the topic of change. To clarify my most prominent point, I quoted entrepreneur Benny Landa, whose prophecy about the inevitability of digitalization is fully in line with my views. In this blog post, these thoughts are followed up with further reflection -- where the question of change and different ways of relating to it will once again be central.
Expressing hope for the future and the changes that lie ahead is often done somewhat casually. The alternative -- expressing worry and contempt towards a change that will happen regardless -- would of course be shooting oneself in the foot. But when Event Logic welcomes the shift that is underway, we are not saying what we think is expected of us. In this blog post, I will clarify why we view the fact that digital alternatives have gained ground over the past year so positively. Furthermore, I intend to explain why we are keen to challenge and change how people plan, procure, and execute meetings. Additionally, I will try to reflect on how the shifts taking place may come to affect you.
Change -- But Not for the Sake of Change
Event Logic's desire to bring about change is based on our thorough understanding of the challenges that characterize the handling of events and meetings. We see how everything from planning and procurement to execution and follow-up costs more time, money, and effort than necessary. The journey from planning to execution is long and often cumbersome. Challenging communication where emails about allergies, limited and often revised participation options follow one after another is one challenge. The fact that many people are involved and that nearly all parts are affected by the smallest edit is another. It is this chaotic and, for the meeting planner, very taxing situation that we want to move away from. This is the reason why we, through our platform that gathers everything in one place, strive to achieve that "game changer" that has not yet happened in our industry.
How Are You Preparing for the Future?
Right now, we find ourselves in a pause between "then" and "later." When the pandemic is overcome and we live in what is currently called "later," the world will be a place changed in many ways compared to "then" -- before the pandemic. This interim period represents an excellent opportunity for reflection: what demands will the post-Corona world place on our operations compared to before? At Event Logic, we naturally have no definitive answers to that question. But if we allow ourselves to speculate, digitalization is hardly likely to take a step backward. Quite the opposite. Event Logic has long been prepared for a world where digital opportunities are fully utilized. So when "later" eventually becomes "now," we are more than ready. How prepared are you?
Kind regards
Henrik Vallentin
